Single “My Two Minds” & Pre-Order for “Mx. High” by Spartan Jet-Plex Out Today

Grimalkin Artist Spartan Jet-Plex's cover art for Mx. High

Today, Grimalkin released the single "My Two Minds" and the pre-order for Mx. High. Mx. High features all of the monthly Loop Sessions DMV tracks that Spartan Jet-Plex created over the past year (2023) and in the order that they were made each month. Together they tell a story and serve as emotional and musical diary excerpts from their life this past year.

"My music is always deeply personal and what I enjoy about Loop Sessions is how the challenge to make a song using the provided crate within a short timeframe informs my creative process to relay mainly on my instincts, intuition and emotions in that moment in time every month."

While the majority of the tracks on Mx. High consist of soundscapes, "My Two Minds" is a dark folk  song using a beat loop made from a sample pack and is indicative of their singer-songwriter chops.

On April 12, 2024, Grimalkin is releasing Mx. High by Spartan Jet-Plex. Mx. High features all of the monthly Loop Sessions DMV tracks that Spartan Jet-Plex created over the past year (2023) and in the order that they were made each month. A visual album of Mx. High accompanies the mix tape and digital version of the album. Together they tell a story and serve as emotional and musical diary excerpts from their life this past year.

"Loop Sessions is a challenge and inspires creativity in a moment in time. It requires you to fall back on your instincts and intuition. I hope I gave the legendary artists who were sampled for this album the respect they most definitely deserve with this mix tape. It was very much a challenge and these tracks are my diary of the past year. This album is my 3rd mixtape representing my 3rd year participating in Loops Sessions DMV. It really means a lot to be included among so many great producers in the Loop Sessions DMV community.

What we see and strive to be isn't always what we expect. I strive to connect and channel the artists that I'm sampling and I'm grateful to Loop Sessions DMV for making people like me feel welcome into your challenges, events and community. I've met so many amazing artists through attending the sessions. Here's to the future."

The final soundscape at the end of the visual album for Mx. High is only available on the visual album and mix tape cassette. It is not included on the digital version.

There will be a small batch of limited edition handmade cassettes. Proceeds from tape sales and 25% of digital sales will go to support Grimalkin's current fundraisers to support our mission.
