“Grimalkin emphasizes the voices of queer and BIPOC artists and gives artists a platform that would not normally have one, and that is especially important these days given the state of the world. The music that Grimalkin releases is also excellent. I appreciate that Grimalkin is a community and network of folks with shared values. For example, I learned of Grimalkin through an old friend of mine, kate can wait, another artist who is part of the Grimalkin community.

One of the main things that Grimalkin has helped me with is connecting with other musicians I didn’t know previously. One of the coolest things was getting to hear my music on vinyl lathes. I also got the opportunity to participate in a Canadian festival, Suoni Per Il Popolo in Montreal. This opportunity also led to learning how to play my music on a keyboard, because I had been programming it previously.” - Demi aka Thaumiel Sonozaki 

Thaumiel Sonozaki aka Demetria Maldonado (she/her) lives in Southern California and makes gorgeous ambient music. She released Amber Ethereal with Grimalkin in August 2020. She currently is working on Azure Ethereal, the sequel to Amber Ethereal.
