Testimonial from Grimalkin Supporter, Artist & Collaborator Skoob

“Initially I discovered Grimalkin as simply a fan circa mid-2020; not any kind of musician, but rather a visual artist who loves music. After a few months as well as some internal hemming and hawing, I sent Grim an introductory email offering some help. I mentioned that I could assist on the art/layout side of things if it was needed, and luckily for me, it was!! In my time working with the collective, I can scarcely begin to adequately describe the warmth and welcome I’ve received. At the time, I hadn't intended to become involved beyond the occasional commitment of some of my time, but the ever-growing feeling I get from slotting neatly into this group of scintillating and supportive individuals has been transformative, freeing.

For the first time in my life, I feel heard and seen as an artist. I know that all work I do goes toward a higher purpose and that we have true unity in our goal of uplifting marginalized voices. I know I can trust any other Grimalkin member with my honest opinions or feedback and they'll grace me with theirs in turn. The collective is a constant candescent source of inspiration, confidence and purpose in a life that's largely felt lacking in some of those areas. The encouragement of the culture of equality in our group empowers everyone involved. Up from the cinders and busted cruft of the music industry, Grimalkin emerges, a bright beacon of beautiful things to come for independent creators who can no longer be muffled under our culture's labored restraints."

Skoob (he/him) is an amorphous cryptid who recently transplanted from the desert to the deep woods of the American east coast. He is a professional graphic designer with over 14 years of experience as well as an avid digital and traditional painter. Music is his first, greatest love, and his collection has grown continually since his initial 1999 purchase of Hello Nasty on cassette at an indeterminate suburban Best Buy. He can be contacted for inquiries at emailskoob@pm.me or by wailing plaintively in the heart of the forest during the witching hour.
