Chastity Platinum: Dead Scream by LEUCROCUTA
April 14, 2023: Chastity Platinum: Dead Scream, a new EP by Ottawa-based experimental avant-pop electronic artist Leucrocuta, is the sound of a demonic possession via the grocery store P.A. system by a chaotic-neutral time demon: ๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐๐พ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ถ๐๐พ๐๐๐. Itโs what happens when you take your mind away and leave yourself open to whatever passing entities may wander through.
Written during the height of pandemic lockdowns, Chastity Platinum: Dead Scream was a way for Leucrocuta to explore fractured & queer identity through vocal processing, and to enter trance states through improvisation with simple but powerful synthesizer sequences, drum machine patterns, and repeated lyrical phrases.
๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐๐พ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ถ๐๐พ๐๐๐ is what happens when you invite the pod aliens to invade you. Itโs what happens when you let your machines take control and sweat the big stuff. Itโs about transformation and revelation through dissociation. Dissociation can be a powerful tool.. but who wields it?
