Ecdysis Incomplete by Ishtar Sr.

November 18, 2022: Ishtar Sr. aka Savan DePaul (they/them, she/her) is a Gr collective member, Gr's vice board chair, and an artist based in Philadelphia, PA.

If the Ishtar Sr. persona, and Divine Ecdysis in particular, birthed itself out of the need to embrace my identity and experiences in their totality, then Ecdysis Incomplete is my victory lap in that queer skin. Assembled from the polished material that did not make the cut of the original studio album, this mixtape bears all my futurist slut pop markings with an even gnarlier bite. From the insurrectionist nods in “Freedom in G Minor!” to the wide array of hard-hitting production styles to the bold faced no-masters anthem “p4rt p4ths 4 da (A)TRIARCH!” that closes the record, Ecdysis Incomplete brings pinches of aggressiveness and direct commentary to the Ishtar Sr. recipe.
