For the Love of Drugs by Quinton Barnes

$13.00

October 21, 2022: Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Quinton Barnes (he/him) is a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer who blends R&B, hip-hop, electronic and soul into an eclectic and unique sound. His work has been featured in Exclaim!, Bandcamp, Dominionated, Xtra Magazine and Northern Transmissions, among others.

His upcoming third album For the Love of Drugs is striking and bold blend of experimental hip-hop with industrial, R&B and electronic influences that aims to electrify and antagonize.

For the Love of Drugs follows a man on the verge of a breakdown indulging in his downfall. This bold, fast paced album blends experimental hip hop, R&B, electronic, soul and industrial influences to create a unique and forward-thinking sound. A queer exploration of freedom, love, suicide, sex and rage, For the Love of Drugs takes you through an eccentric and unpredictable musical journey suited for the dance floor.

For the Love of Drugs was written and recorded from December 2020 to June 2022. The first version of the album was scrapped in November 2021, with all but one song (Stunner) being canned in favour of a more aggressive, confrontational sound.
