Kill the Greed by Spartan Jet-Plex
I wrote a few new songs that didn't get recorded for my new album that's coming out this September because they just didn't fit what I was going for but I recorded this one this week basically to help me focus and do something positive for myself. I've been neglecting doing things for myself the last couple of months and was determined to change that this week. I set a goal to do at least one thing music-wise for myself each week. It's truly what keeps me feeling better than if I'm not doing music for myself at least once weekly.
This song is pretty self explanatory and probably corny but I honestly get so worked up and angry when I think about billionaires and the wealthy, especially in this country and especially since they're profiting heavily off of the pandemic and at the expense of the rest of us and while most people are suffering in some way, most especially Black and trans people and people with disabilities.
lyrics
sometimes it doesn't matter where you go
sometimes it isn't how much you know
nobody's standing firmly on the ground
sometimes we lose the things that we have found
kill the greed
that's what we need
sometimes it doesn't matter where you've been
doesn't matter who you know or who's your kin
we need to break down all of their doors
eat the rich and grind them up for the poor
kill the greed
that's what we need
