Shipwreck by Spartan Jet-Plex

$1.00

My music is largely inspired by older folk and blues music, and this track begins with a Charlie McCoy sample from his song Candy Man Blues.

This song was written pre-pandemic but did not get recorded for my' new album Live which is out today as well. I see this as a companion song to that album. While Live is mostly about celebrating life, this one is a celebration of death or a lamentation of life. We all are gonna die. As it's been said before, It is the one certainty we have in this life.

lyrics

I see the old times rolling

I see inside

I hear the numbers calling

I'm here for the ride

I can't see, nothing matters

I lost my guide

don't leave your bones on deck

my soul's a dirt shipwreck

but then I had to stay

the new times are boiling

and I am well on my way

the season's are changing

but we've found our way

we'll jump in that orange lake

don't take my hand

you're never gonna understand

I see the old times rolling

I see inside

I hear the numbers calling

I'm here for the ride

I can't see, nothing matters

I lost my guide

don't leave your bones on deck

your soul's a dirt shipwreck
